Funeral services for Handy “Mac” Avent, age 75, who died on Friday, October 3, 2025, will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Louisburg with Rev. Andrew West officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Avent of the home; two sons, Eric Avent and Anthony Avent, both of Nashville, NC; four sisters, Annie Perry of Nashville, NC, Ophelia Coley (Clinton) of Whitakers, NC, Pattie Hubbard and Lucy Debro, both of Richmond, VA; four brothers, Orris Avent, Jr. (Cherry) of Hollister, NC, Jesse Avent (Madgie) of Nashville, NC, Charles “Lin” Avent and Rudolph “Bo” Avent (Patricia), both of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing Friday afternoon from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Louisburg.
