Funeral services for Rufus Taylor, age 73, who died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1:00p.m. from the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville, NC with Rev. Douglas Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Taylor of Rocky Mt., NC, two daughters, Synthia Westry (Marcus) of Nashville, NC and Kimberly Gilliam (Lorenzo) of Newport News, VA, three sons, Rufus Taylor III of Rocky Mt., NC, Davie Lewis (Jessica) of Nashville, NC and Malcolm Wade of Greensboro, NC, three sisters, Loraine Barnes of New Haven, CT, Bernice Marie Hewett (Lois) of Hyattsville, MD and Doris Leonard of Nashville, NC; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Union Hill Baptist Church in Nashville, NC on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm.
