Funeral services for Mary H. Anstead age 79, who died on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Social Union Baptist Church in Nashville, NC, with Rev. Melvin Johnson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Anstead and Kimberly Cheek (Prentice) both of Castalia, NC, sisters, Sadie Tucker (Joe) of Nashville, NC, and Gloriso Richardson of Hampton, VA, brother, Duke Hedgpeth Jr. of Littleton, NC, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing prior to the service on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the Social Union Baptist Church in Nashville, NC.
