Funeral services for Merle Lee Richardson, age 77, who died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 1:00p.m. from the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Louisburg, NC.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 12:00p.m. until 1:00p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.

Merle Richardson or Pastor as I lovingly called him baptized me and from then on we had an unbreakable bond my heart aches that he has passed away but I am comforted knowing he has gone to his heavenly reward❤️ my condolences to the family 🙏🏾 love you always Pastor👏🏾

Merle and I are first cousins, his dad and my mother were sisters and brothers. Merle loved the Lord from a young age. He would quote Bible verses and preach on them. Our grandmother loved to hear him preach whenever one of our pets passed away, Merle would conduct the Funeral and we younger cousins would be the mourners. He grew up to become a preacher. Him and I would sing at Essex Church of God, our song was A Train is Coming, you better get on board. That train stopped last Thursday and Merle got on board bound for his Heavenly Home. Well all miss Merle but know we’ll see him again on the other side. RIP Merle we love you
